What’s Next in Mental Health: Dr. Avis Attaway, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Life Coach

August 2020: A Note from Hope & Cynthia — We actually met Dr. Avis Attaway through her son, Austin, 23, who was a fellow student of mine in the positive psychology MA program at Claremont Graduate University. When he learned about Inkandescent Women magazine, she immediately said, “You need to meet my mom!”

He couldn’t have been more correct. We hit it off immediately with the psychologist and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who for more than 25 years has been committed to helping people work through what’s keeping them stuck: confusion, emotional or physical pain.

Dr. Avis Addaway

“I’ve made it my life’s work to help clients identify what’s interfering with their relationships and life plans, and find the hidden habits of thinking that continually disrupt the ability to maximize peak potential in each area of life,” says the woman who founded Life Source Affordable Counseling so that more people can get the mental health support they need. “As we uncover and rewrite the scripts that are running in the background and keeping you stuck in pain and frustration, you’ll find yourself experiencing a newfound sense of peace, coupled with creativity and motivation.”

What’s Next in Mental Health? When we began thinking of the women to guide us into the future, we immediately reached out to Dr. Avis. Stay tuned for her answers to our questions, and to our video interview on Inkandescent.tv.
