August 2020 — I admit it. I love fairytales. It’s the fantasy of artful figures dancing around on the screen, singing lyrics of optimism, and promising that everything will be ok: The evil queen will not win. Mice can help with the laundry. There actually is a prince charming. While I know better (especially, unfortunately, about the prince charming part), it doesn’t make me believe any less in fairy godmothers, dreams coming true, and magic.
As we launch in the August 2020 issue of Inkandescent Women magazine, I can tell you with utter certainty that a month after ushering in my 56th year, the risks I’ve taken have landed in me in the fairytale I’ve dreamed of living in. My new home in Las Cruces, NM is hot, the skies are humongous, and I have a sense of peace I thought was unattainable. And, yes, we are experiencing a global pandemic. But in the face of imminent doom, why not have a ball? As you’ll learn in the cover story of this issue, that’s the plan.
For starters, Inkandescent Women has partnered with Cynthia de Lorenzi and her international women’s networking group, Success in the City. I think she may be my Fairy Godmother. You’ll learn why in our cover story, and also in our interview with this futurist who refers to herself as a serial entrepreneur and social commentator. She shares thoughts on the status of women in our world and their impact on our culture and economy today.
She also has invited a dozen industry leaders form her Success in the City community to share their thoughts about the burning question we all have: What’s Next? You’ll learn more in each profile, and in their insightful, informative, Inkandescent Zoom interviews we’ve posted on Inkandescent.tv.
That’s not all!
