Get Ready to Be Part of the Revolution
A NOTE FROM HOPE
What does it mean to be truly amazing? That’s the question I have been excited to answer since April 18, 2008 — the day I gave birth to TrulyAmazingWomen.com.
In that time, I’ve had the honor of interviewing hundreds of women who are making strides and changing lives — by managing companies, launching new products, seeing a problem and fearlessly finding a solution — while changing diapers, driving carpool, dealing with a difficult relationship(s), and figuring out what in the world to make for dinner. You can read these interviews here.
That’s why today, on this beautiful winter morning in 2019, I am re-launching the project at Inkandescent Women magazine.
Our mission: We need more women on corporate boards, making policy by holding political offices, getting paid as much as their male counterparts, and having control over what happens to and in their bodies. How? By coming together in this national network that promotes the work women are doing, raises their voices to be heard by an international audience, and connects them to each other online and in person at celebratory and educational retreats, workshops, and events.
Our presence: Through our online magazine InkandescentWomen.com, YouTube channel TrulyAmazingWomen.tv, podcast show InkandescentRadio.com, and traveling speaker bureau for women, by women, about women InkandescentSpeakers.com — we are collectively raising our voices to be heard in new and powerful ways. Scroll down to watch a video of this issue’s Truly Amazing Woman, and read the interviews we’ve done with hundreds of women in a dozen industries. Then check out the work of our authors and artists in our Book Store and Art Gallery.
Our minds, bodies, spirits, and souls: Because we know all women thrive when they feel powerful in their bodies, we’ve created the The Well — an online offering that enables you to take yoga classes and have coaching sessions with our members who are skilled at helping others gain a deeper understanding of what makes them tick.
Our history: Inspiration to create Truly Amazing Women came the afternoon I was sitting at a luncheon for the women’s group Aura at the Columbian ambassador’s home in DC’s Dupont Circle in April 2008. Surrounding me were 100 dynamic, invincible women determined to create change. Speakers included actress and Cancer Schmancer founder Fran Drescher, politically savvy Hadassah Lieberman, and Holocaust survivor Nesse Godin. Later that day, I was among hundreds more women who filled the home of philanthropist Edie Fraser who gathered to help elect the first female president. As a journalist and advocate, I knew it was my job to shine a spotlight on these women — and thousands more — doing important work, often under the radar.
Our plan: In the decade since that memorable day, we have conducted interviews with more than 500 women before starting our Truly Amazing Women TV series, which now captures their stories on video. In 2018, we launched a membership package to raise the voice of even more women by not only increasing their visibility through our PR and marketing efforts — but by providing coaching and branding services, as well as wellness offerings, to help them thrive in their minds, bodies, spirits, and souls. In 2019, we will launch Inkandescent Women Magazine, a monthly publication that will share the stories of our members with our 50,000+ subscribers. We’ll also be hosting retreats, workshops, and events around the country where more women can join us.
Our membership: If you are an Inkandescent Woman, or know someone you’d like to nominate to be part of our growing network, click here to learn more about our membership packages.
Here’s to your incredible, indelible, Inkandescent success! — Hope Katz Gibbs, founder and president
