Longtime yogi Kim Vulinovic grew up climbing trees, roller skating and riding her bike in the hills of Pennsylvania. In her early adult life, she was a fashion designer in Manhattan and a serious modern dance student. She and her husband raised their two daughters and now enjoy the life of empty nesters in Oak Park, IL.
Beginning her yoga practice in 1996 after the birth of her youngest daughter, Kim was surprised to find that yoga helped, not only her physical body, but all aspects of her life. Looking for a career that would balance her family life and include her love of movement, art and children, she became a Certified YogaKids Teacher in 2001 and began her business, YogaKids of Oak Park. In addition, she holds an E200hour Registered Yoga Teacher designation through Yoga Alliance and teaches alignment based, gentle flow classes to adults.
In her home town, Kim teaches about 12 children’s yoga classes each week at Montessori Preschools, public schools and yoga studios. She creatively themes lesson plans to include music, ecology, academics and character education. Her classes stress the non-competitive aspects of yoga to assure all children’s success and a boosting of their self-esteem.
Kim is a dynamic Yoga Alliance approved trainer leading a new generation of thoughtful, compassionate women through the process of becoming children’s yoga teachers. She also offers courses on yogic parenting strategies.
Children everywhere can now join her “live” on zoom or through YouTube. Her mission is connection, helping the children connect to themselves, their bodies, their spirits, their community and to all of our home, the earth.” Namaste!
